About The Department

Introduction

Mind-body Medicine is an allied division of medicine focused on preventing, treating, and managing health through lifestyle changes.  Promotion of integrative health management is spearheaded by this department. 

The department hones the skills required for professionals to contribute to the holistic healthcare management of patients, focusing on combining the strengths of modern medicine with lifestyle.  The importance of diet, sleep, exercise, meditation, yoga, and art in building the resilience required for good health is emphasized upon. Mental health and stress management is also included in the curriculum.

The M.Sc. Wellness and Health Coaching program is accredited by the  Certified Coaches Alliances, Vancouver Canada.

The ultimate goal of our department is to contribute towards building a more aware, healthy society, allowing future generations to enjoy better, more fulfilling lives. 

Objectives:

  • To offer academic programs that foster a multidisciplinary community of health professionals.
  • To collaborate with partners and conduct evidence-based research in the field of integrative medicine.
  • To establish integrative health clinics that specifically work towards holistic healthcare management.

Key Achievements:

  • Achieved a World Record from the World Records Union, for the most number of students and faculty performing “Bujangasan” (2024).
  • Adjudged the Best Awareness  activity – “Distinguished Activity Award” towards World Sleep Day, by World Sleep Society (2020 & 2021).
